MS Research Accessibility:

Search tips:

The search is provided by Google for charities with no adverts. A link to the search page appears at the top of each page. Click on the link. To get the best results follow these tips:

  • Use keywords - the search won't work well using natural language (eg “how can I find out about exercises?”), keywords (eg “rehabilitation”) will find better results.
  • Use quotes to search for an exact phrase (eg ”Dr Rosie Jones”).

Layout:

The site uses Cascading Style Sheets (CSS2) to control all of the presentation and layout. The tables are used to display lists of facts. For instance; the table of awarded grants for research projects displays the amounts and the dates. They will be used in a context of information that needs to be displayed in a table. Screen reader users will find a table summary, a caption and some description of the various headings of the columns and indication of the different rows to make easy the use of information.

The “main” part has two columns. “column1” on the right of the page contains some links as explained below. Most pages have a donation buton to our secure link at the Charity Aid Foundation. Our cantact page has the paragraph on “Authority”. The main section of the page is in “column2”.

Site utility menu:

The site utility menu is displayed on the top right side of the page. It contains hyperlinks to all the main pages that give information that will assist visitors in using the site more effectively and how to contact us.

Site main navigation menu:

The site main navigation menu is displayed at the top on the left below the MS Research Training and Education charity logo (sometimes referred to as the top navigation menu) and contains a list of hyperlinks to all of the major sections on the MS Research Training and Education charity website and how to contact us.

Site local menus:

The site local menus are displayed at the top of “column1” on the right of the page. This menu contains a list of hyperlinks to the section of the website.

Additional links menus:

The additional links menus are displayed at the bottom of “column1” on the right of the page. This menu contains a list of hyperlinks to some local or related sites.
