Second International MS week June 3-9 2002
The Second International MS week was marked by the conference Multiple Sclerosis: A World View which was held in Chicago, Illinois June 5-9 2002. The meeting was co-sponsored by CMSC (Consortium of MS Centres), RIMS (Rehabilitation in Multiple Sclerosis), LACTRIMS (Latin American Committee on Treatment and Research In Multiple Sclerosis) and IOMSN (International Organisation of Multiple Sclerosis Nurses) and it brought together world-wide networks of scientists, researchers and healthcare providers in multiple sclerosis.
The meeting offered an international perspective on clinical and research issues in MS and provided an opportunity to meet, confer and network with colleagues throughout the world. The Conference featured current research, identified areas for further research and contained numerous workshops, satellite symposia and an international database/ registries meeting.
The Bristol MS Research Unit thanks the CMSC for sponsorship and the Welcome Trust for a Travel Award for Angela Davies Smith to attend the meeting and present part of the Tremor Project . The abstracts from the meeting are published in the International Journal of MS Care June 2002, Vol.4, Issue 2
