NICE and the National Collaborating Centre for Chronic Conditions have published a guideline for the NHS in England and Wales on the management of multiple sclerosis (MS) for healthcare professionals that include how the diagnosis should be made, how people should be told they have MS and the treatments that should be offered. Treatments for MS may involve medicines but also include physiotherapy, rehabilitation, psychological and emotional support. There is also some general background information on MS. A Resource pack includes: characteristics of a useful measure for the effect of a treatment or the extent of some aspect of a person's situation; expanded model of Illness (WHO ICF plus) - a way of describing someone's situation.
