Masku skiing device:
This is a description of the picture of Angela, research neurophysiotherapist, trying the shiing device at Masku is a village just outside Turku on the west coast of Finland where a large rehabilitation centre for people with neurological conditions has been built. Angela wears warm clothing including snow boots, anorak, scarf and gloves. She is seated quite close to the ground on what looks like a grey café seat with no legs fixed to a skiing device. It is made of three skis attached like the seat to a yellow metal frame. The two skis on the side would be small. Only the right one is visible. The middle ski is longer as it supports the feet at the front. the three skis are welded to the yellow metal frame. Angela looks as comfortable as sitting in a Mini car. In her hands she holds two ski batons which have been shortened to the child of ten size. Off she goes...
